Grand Final Day- Saturday in Gracetown

Morning, its Grand Final AFL day, and I’m sure everyone is excited and who will be the champions, Hawks or Swans.
We got ready early and made sure Dylan didn’t sleep the day away so we could go check out more wineries before the Grand Final began back at the caravan Park. Off at 9.30am and headed to first was down to check out south point a well know spot for surfers and also where the Margaret River mouth is. We could see where the mouth meets the ocean. All the boys put their feet in the Indian Ocean for the last time. We did see a few having a surf and they were catching the wave. We then headed to a winery called ‘’Swings and Roundabouts’, another that was recommended and this was lovely and purchased a few as you do when trying so many different ones. It felt like it was a winery walkabout weekend, as we sometimes do with our friends up at Albury and that’s the Queens birthday weekend in June. Funny that it’s the Queens birthday weekend here too but its September. When is the Queen’s real birthday? Does anybody know?
Next stop was over to 3 Palardi Wines another that was recommended and I would say there would be over 100 wineries here in the Margaret River Region. This winery didn’t have any wines that we were keen on but the kids found the kids corner with computers and dollies to play with. To get the kids out of there we said we were off to the Ice cream farm shop and that made them do a quick step into the car. Not far from here was the Millars Ice cream Farm shop. They looked like the best ice cream so we all had one at a huge price of course but who cares we are holidaying. Yum, we all loved them, very creamy. Quick we could here the Grand Final on the radio and it was pre- entertainment, we had to get back to camp or we’ll miss it. At the camp kitchen the big screen was set up but on Foxtel, and nothing was on really just talking about footy. Its on channel 7 live and I’m sure it’s started, we were all saying. So they changed the channel and damm, the footy was on and had been playing for about 5 mins. We missed the first point from Hawthorn. We had front row seats and kept them for the entire match. A sausage sizzle was put on and we think they over catered as they gave away bread rolls later. A huge jumping castle was erected after the game for all the kids to jump on and it was the best castle I’ve ever seen with 2 big slides attached. Lily played in the park for the entire football match and then the jumping castle. I approached her to see if she was okay she snapped at me to go away I’m playing with these girls. Well its 7pm now and they have just started the open-air big screen movie tonight with the movie being ‘The Lorax”, I believe the Lorimer family know this one back to front. Ha Ha HA.
We have taken chairs up for the kids to sit and watch and Lily has to sit with all these girls up there while the boys are up the back with each other. Mark has just come back and told me Lily is just about asleep, so she’ll miss seeing the finish. She’s had a huge day, I guess, too much playing. Boys all had a kick of footy as the season came to an end today. Well done Swannies, good game and close too! I was actually barracking for Hawks though. Moving on tomorrow, but don’t want to, could actually stay here a couple more days, a lot to discover in the Margaret River region. It was fun while we were there.
