Hitting the Nullarbor for the first time!!!

6am awake but the neighbors kids didn't start until 6.30am, today is the day we start to head east as we journey home along the Nullarbor. We hadn't traveled the Nullarbor before so it was the wonder of the unknown.  Started at 9.45am, at set off and we were hoping to get to Cocklebiddy.
Stopped in Norseman for a couple of supplies and headed off again. We aimed to get to Fraser rest area, but for some reason we must have passed it. We need to stop in a toilet area and for lunch as well as a stretch your leg stop.
One of the signs we see, wow this will be fun

We move on and head to Balladonia, which has a roadhouse.
Lunch, and we all feel better. Lily even spots the park except it's right next to the petrol bowser and road trains were pulling in. I was't feeling too comfortable with her playing there. There was a museum inside the roadhouse so we checked that out and it was all about the Nullarbor and traveling the south coast. Boys were pretty excited when they watched the video documentary pointing out different places they have been and they kept saying’ been there, been there, oh look the tree top walk, been there'. We also read all about the 'Nullarbor Nymph', a very funny story. A naked lady was spotted back in 1971, running through bush land. I will put the picture up, and everyone can read it for himself or herself.
The Nullarbor Nymph, a must read

A funny sign out the front of the roadhouse
On the road again and we kept saying we'll attempt to go further but time was getting away and opted to stay at Cocklebiddy roadhouse, especially after seeing about 50 dead kangaroos in a space of 1 km and arrived at 4.10pm, enough driving for today.  We laugh it's like camping in a car park but quite a few people have turned up for the night. $30 and $5 for the toilet key and as there's 5 of us we get a 10 min token for the showers each. I think I'll pinch the kid’s tokens and have 40 mins instead, ha ha ha!!! They have a bar and a TV and we were offered to go and check it out. We went up for a beer and saw channel 9 news and then funniest home videos. An exciting night, as we go back to the darkness of the camper in car park. However we could hear he huge generator running for the roadhouse and massive road trains driving past or pulling into the roadhouse. Great, in for an exciting sleep tonight. Kids watched the Muppet movie-1979 version tonight, something they all agreed to watch together. Hooray!!
