Last day in beautiful sunny Broome. We got
up really early because we all had a great nights sleep, pancake morning for
breakfast and then down the beach by 9am, now that’s a first for us. We decided
to splurge on ourselves and hire a sun lover’s package at the beach, which are
2 sun lounges and a beach umbrella. It was terrific because I’m not a huge fan
of sand everywhere and to lie back in a sun lounge was great. Lily dug and made
sand castles under the beach umbrella and the boys were actually hesitant today
to go into water as there were literally hundreds of jelly fish, not the bad
ones that sting you but just these huge dark blobs floating and were washed
aground. The boys joined Lily instead and made castles. It was hot so they
braved the jellyfish for a dip in the water. OH NO, THEY BOTH COME OUT AND THEY
ARE ITCHING LIKE CRAZY AND IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE SMALL MOSIE BITES. I went
down to the first aid tent which was the lifeguard also and he said just wash
off the salt water it should feel better soon. Mark got it too, but put on the
brave face and said it’s not that bad. It looked bad to me, with bites on their
tummy and legs. Having a quick doze in the sun was just so relaxing and just
people watching at the beach is a lot of fun. We had the sun lounges and
umbrella for 4 hours so we were making sure we used up the time, we did and
went back for lunch. Now for an afternoon or maybe just a few hours at the
pool, and I did some washing. I have found these washing machines the best out
of the whole trip they actually wash the clothes, well they look clean
anyway.Mark did last minute food
shop, gas fill and petrol fill, ready for the drive off tomorrow. Having Chris
and Colin next door has been lovely as we decided tonight to go driving down on
the beach and watch the sun go down, and to top it off, Chris brings out the
champagne to toast our chance meeting. It was so busy on the beach there were
cars everywhere, had to say to Lily watch out for cars, and that’s funny when
she’s only playing on the beach. The sun went right down and we waited for the
pink sky and all cars had disappeared. Better go and get dinner so we make our
way back. Another day over, and we head to Eighty Mile beach tomorrow should
only be a 3.5-hour trip.
