Quobba Day 2

Well we are staying longer here so Mark goes and pays for another night, a whole $32 for all of us.  We wanted to do more exploring and the guy at the office, Tim ,  the owner, gives Mark an itinery for the day to take a drive along the coastline of their property at Quobba homestead as there's 80 km of it. Then to drive to 17 mile beach, you'll need a bit of 4 wd at the end but to go there as you'll be the only ones there., we started out about 10am driving the coastline and stopping and looking at whales and the amazing waves pounding the rock faces 330 feet high. Just Beautiful seeing our gorgeous countries  western coastline. We saw wild goats and and a few emus. One of the suggested places to stop and have a look was 'the ledge', the rocks were undercut so it made it scary when you got near the edge. Breathtaking just breathtaking. ! Off to 17 mile beach for lunch, perfect, but we got closer and the track down was steep and sandy, no way, change our mind. However could see another track down towards the beach , so we attempted that one, the track had huge rocks at the beginning, we all got out and moved the dangerous and pointy ones so we didn't have to go over them. Pointy ones, we don't like as we have heard on the road about people going through 3 tyres in one day. We were careful and took our time down the track. We got there and sure enough , yes the beach to ourselves, so we renamed it for a day'Garrett's Beach'. Wow , this was so thick with sand and the shells, OMG! Just amazing. We looked for shells and found even better, beauties. Buzz you will be proud of our collection . We have about 10kg of shells I think. Dylan suggests we open up a shop, when we get back.  We had lunch here and relaxed and the boys all swam in the Indian Ocean. The waves here were a bit big so you couldn't swim much. We headed back as we wanted to get back so we could again cook in daylight. We drove back down the coastline seeing it from the other direction. This is an amazing place Quobba, and highly recommend it.
Quobba, the beautiful coastline

Just out of this world.
Not alt of people know about it and the owners of the homestead said that's how we like it. Oh well, we won't tell anyone about it then, we said with a laugh. We thanked Tim so much for the itinery for the day. We are heading off tomorrow to Denham. 4 hour drive.
