Boys having a swim after a long day in the car to Exmouth
Massive day of driving however left at 8 am, quite proud that we got moving so early. Really wanted to get to Exmouth so we could explore the Ningaloo Reef. Before we headed off went via Dampier as Dylan had said we watched 'Red Dog ' at school and he really wanted to see the statue in Dampier. We drove in and right down the end of town and Dylan had said he recognised some of the town from the movie. We couldn't find it but drove around and found a close express to get petrol and them drive towards the start again. We found 'Red Dog', at the entrance of Dampier , which would of been obvious. We all haven't seen the movie except for Dylan. Drew gave us some movies before we left and guess what he put Red Dog on . So after visiting Red Dog and reading all the info on Dampier we took photos and I thought that's it I'm watching it in the car. I set myself up with headphones and said don't annoy me watching a movie. Of course the tissues were out too but I could relate to the movie as we had only just visited Dampier. Stopped at a roadhouse for lunch. Travelling and travelling, mark has a bad back at the moment and also feet. Arrived finally in Exmouth, we knew we wouldn't get into the national park as you have to line up for a position at 6 am and hope to get a spot. I saw Wendy and James had gone to the Exmouth Holiday cabin park, so I just said yes let's go here . It was 17 km out of the national park . This was a big 4 park and they put us right next to the playground and the camp kitchen. Mark thought the spot was not good but as for the kids it was as they just go play in in the playground . We used the camp kitchen for everything even the table and chairs, why use your own when you are tight next to the kitchen. Lily wanted the pool so it was straight in while I laid back on the sunlounge to watch. Boys later joined her for a dip. It was a drink and snack and then time to get dinner. The camp kitchen tonight had a tour group called 'The Western Express ', their tour driver had a guitar and sang Aussie songs as the tourists were mainly English and Irish. It was good to listen to, they played' give me a home amongst the gum trees' , ' tie me kangaroo down sport' and waltzing Matilda . However they were still socialising at 10.30pm and were quite loud.
