Quobba

Arrived at Quobba and my thoughts became a worried one as theres a sign that says, 'king waves kill'. We were heading right another  8 km to the Quobba Homestead . This is a sheep station and the family own 80 km of coast line pounded by huge waves from the Indian ocean. We opted for no power because if we took power it only runs from 6am-10am and then again at night 5pm-10pm and  its only for lights not kettles, microwaves or toasters . So we didn't bother with the power.  Lady said to us find a spot anywhere, so we found a spot and set up.! The nearest camp site to us was about 50 metres away and we could only just see them. Our view from our camp was just open land and a windmill.  Firstly we set up,we are fast now and then a stroll to the homestead beach and once again collected hundreds of shells, huge clam shells and really big beauties as lily kept on saying ,"what would buzz  say if he saw these, wish he was here to say, that's a beauty". This was the famous saying from my dad when I was a little girl, collecting shells. We will show him, Lily when we get home.
The top of the hill, the Lighthouse
We took the shells back to our camp and then took a drive to the lighthouse as , mark wanted results from the local footy back home, Frankston Bombers , it was their grand final. The only place up get reception was at the top of this hill where the lighthouse is.  The mobile was going  , beep, beep, beep as we both   got text messages re: footy results of a WIN!!! . Hooray they won, and we now know. Drive down to the blowholes that are nearby, and can actually see them from the top of the lighthouse. There was a memoriam at the blowhole site as there were 2 men that lost their lives there. Oliver was so nervous as he didn't want anyone of us up near it. He kept on yelling , right if you want  die. I had a look quickly and took Oliver and lily back further where we could still see the blowhole but to have a comfortable and a safe spot for him. Dylan and Mark  went closer to the blowhole ignoring Oliver's cries of , don't go you'll die. I kept reassuring him, they'll be fine.  Dylan came back with the most amazing pictures he took on his iPod of the blowhole. They both got a bit wet too with the spray. Back to camp for dinner in the light as its easier than in dark especially with no power .
