1st Day In Kakadu

The view.With no tops |
1st day in Kakudu, well, what to
do. How about we go to the Information Centre, they can help us out. Kakadu
National Park is huge and there are different regions you can go and explore.
We stopped off here and there was a lot to look at and we spoke to the guide
who helped us decide on what to do, and on what days. Keeping in mind we have
Lily who cant do a lot of walking or if we do mark cops it with her sitting on
his shoulders. It was off to Ubirr, before we had some lunch at the Information
centre, as it was a 1-hour drive to get there at least. We got there and it was
Aboriginal rock art and short stroll, however it was middle of the day in the
extreme heat. We all keep drinking a lot and I can tell you I have never
sweated so much since being hear in the N.T, it must be the humidity, I would
get from the kids,” MUM your face is dripping”, at least they didn’t say
sagging. At the end of the walk was now the hard bit, climbing up the rocks to
get to the top see the view. Well, Lily had to be carried, a little difficult
for her, boys loved it as its adventurous. The view was breathtaking, so
beautiful, but so hot on the rocks on the top too. A photo I took of the 4 of
them was one with no tops on as it was so hot, not a photo I would like to be
in. It was also good to be going back down, and finding a small amount of shade
half way down under some rocks. We all drank so much we refilled when we got
back to the car, however the car was saying 46 deg inside, we waited to hop
back in. We drove to East
Alligator River and walked along the track, spotting Crocodiles. We saw them on
the other side ,all muddy and huge, laying in the sun. There were so many
mosquitos, I was bitten about 4 times in a minute. I walked back to car with
Oliver and Lily and Mark and Dylan walked a little further on. Us 3 were over
the heat and the mosquitos. Back to camp for a refresh once again in the pool.
