Taking a dip in the Katherine Gorge

Oliver, I think I've been in the smallest toilet of all time today!!

Today was the day we were going on the ‘Timeless Land 3 Gorge Cruise’, so a slower morning and the boys catching up with their journals and as my Internet hadn’t been working, I went and got the free Wii fi that was available. This was the slowest downloads, so I couldn’t do much. My blog has been a little behind, so I apologize. Later found out that, well its run out and need to top it up. Getting ready and we made our lunch and we walked to the visitor’s centre where we get on the cruise. Normally the cruise takes about 50 people but we were lucky today we had 15 on board, so we could spread out. Our guide was Ashley and he was very informative and he through in quite a bit of humor as well. This cruise was for 4 hours, so we were looking forward to it. Our first stop was to see a crocodile on a branch in the water. It was information overload when learning many facts as we went along.  The 1st Gorge we reached the end and had to transfer to another boat, each Gorge don’t have enough water so we transfer to another boat. The same when we reached the end of Gorge 2. It was beautiful and very picturesque.  We saw a Kookaburra try and pick up a snake on a ledge of a rock face, but he didn't succeed . The day on the cruise was coming to an end and we stopped off at a rock pool area where you could go swimming. Of course mark, Dylan, and Oliver did. Only fresh water crocs, are in here and after the wet season they patrol to make sure no Salt water crocs end up in there, if they do they capture them and move them on. Hoping back aboard after they supplied afternoon tea, we started to head back, ending with where’s Oliver? he’s in the Marine toilet on board and he’s there for awhile. We couldn’t stop laughing because this toilet was like a small cupboard and Ashley, our guide, had said it’s a toilet if anyone needs it, its not flash but its something. Guess what no one used it the whole trip, until Oliver. He was in there awhile and we started to head back so at this stage we were going pretty fast.” Are you alright, Oliver”? No reply. He finally comes out and he says,” Well that’s the smallest toilet, I’ve ever been in, and mum the whole down the dunny was so small”, we were in fits of laughter.  Back to shore and camp as a beautiful pool awaits us, as we are really hot. My mum and dad were home from their holiday as of yesterday so spoke to both of them, as they aren’t too well catching a bug of some sort. Moving on tomorrow.
