Okay today was discovering another falls,
Cascade. This sounded lovely so we decided lets take lunch in there and have a
swim. 1.3km walk in to the falls, “oh great” says Oliver, It’ll be fun Oliver
lets go. We start off with 800m of normal paths into the falls, then its like,
WHAT THE, balancing on 1 plank to cross a creek. I said, “No way, I’m doing
that”, as I was carrying all the towels and the swimming gear and Mark had Lily
on his shoulders. “We aren’t turning around now”, says mark. Well it gets
harder and harder, up and over rocks and it was a lot of balancing to get up
and over. Guess what, we did it in thongs and now we need new ones, they are
literally worn out. Got to the end and we finally found a spot on the rocks and
had lunch, there was actually further to go, but Lily and I stayed put and the
boys went discovering up and over the rocks. Boys went ahead of Mark and as
Mark was walking he heard something falling from the trees, like a palm leaf or
something, OH NO, it wasn’t it was a snake, he was a little surprised, no he
wasn’t he was A LOT surprised. He actually quickly turned the camera on and got
a photo and a short video. We later found out it was a brown snake, highly
venomous. Oh my, I’m ready to go now, lets start the journey back, and snakes
are not my thing. By the time we
walked back to the car, we all were slightly hot and thirsty. Well done to Mark
who walked the whole way with Lily on his shoulders, as she wasn’t up to much
today, again feeling not well. An extra 16kg on his shoulders. We all earn’t a
swim back at the Wangi Falls, this is where everyone swims. Back here again and we claim a spot on
the picnic rug and all the boys go straight in. Lily didn’t feel like it, so we
coloured in her colouring book on the mat. Then I had to play mums and babies,
I was the baby, I was happy with that as I actually dozed off and Lily kept
playing. Back to camp about 5pm
and boys did some writing in their journal. Finding it difficult at times to do
homework set by the teachers, just not enough time in the day. We are learning
in a different way though. This
was our last day and we head to Darwin tomorrow. We discover a beautiful green
frog tonight in the water drain, so pretty. We have seen so many different
animals, insects, and scary reptiles along our journey. We haven’t even seen
the crocodiles yet!!!
