Alice Springs

Another day in Alice Springs and the Fisher family left today, however the boys and their girls arranged a date, not really a date, to meet at the camp kitchen at 8am as they were to go and hire a quad bicycle from the office. The hiring was for 1 hour, while the Fisher’s packed up. Very funny watching the boys laugh so much with the girls and then they would swap and let lily hop on too. 9.15am came and we said goodbye to the Fisher family and we had worked out we might not see them again until Frankston as they are away 9 weeks. Bye for now, its been fun catching up and having another family to mingle with. We decided to check out Corroboree rock, which was 70 odd km out. Well not very interesting but we walked around anyway, which made it 10 times worse. We made our way back and went to Jessie’s Gap and looked at Emily’s Gap, also. For some reason all the kids were not in a good mood at all. Didn’t feel like doing anything especially Lily. I think a few late nights had caught up. I wanted to check out the town of Alice Springs, so we all went back into town, not much open as shops shut up at 1.00pm. That’s the way they should back in Frankston, I believe. Ha Ha Ha. It was 2.00pm and mainly the supermarkets ,target and dymocks the bookshop was open. Our shopping adventure was over, everyone got a book at the bookstore. The main shopping mall, had aboriginals sitting around all over the place, in droves. You should hear Lily say Aboriginals, its like averinals, so cute. We have warned her though, don’t point and don’t say, there’s one!!, as she has been. I guess it’s all new for her, seeing them.  Back to camp, and the kids decided they would try out the pool, a little chilly for our liking though. Only our Oliver would jump straight in and under. Air temp has been around 25-29 deg, but not the pool. Plenty of time for swimming later in our trip. Back at camp, the sound of a didgeridoo was playing and it was a white man, down at the camp kitchen doing a show on how to play one and his pieces of music with the didgeridoo. Kids loved it. Bed early, as we wanted to leave early in the morning.
